1965 Airstream Land Yacht Trade Wind

s and what doesn't (although I have it plugged in here and the electrical seems to be fine, lights and plugs work and even the old original AC blows cool), I planned to take most of the appliances out and go modern, but keep the basic interior floor-plan because the wood and laminate on the cabinets is in great shape and can easily be just sanded/stained and/or new laminate counter-tops put on, the wood on the storage doors under the sofa has some cracking/peeling (see pics) and they may need to be replaced. It has the middle twin bed floor plan, and the beds each have a "pull-out shelf" under the mattresses so that you can put the cushions together for one large bed, and the sofa also folds into another bed, so it will "technically" sleep 4 with this configuration, but 3 is more practical. The ceiling shows absolutely NO signs of previous leaks or damage, it is in amazing condition (see pics) and the original ugly metal vent in the roof of the living area was recently upgraded to a modern dark-tinted plexi skylight (see exterior roof pic). The bathroom wouldn't take much to restore it to great original-style condition either, lots of room, great little tub/shower, vanity, closet/storage etc, and even the original toilet is in decent condition. This trailer is a bit dusty inside, the original flooring is OLD and ugly (lots of the "speckles" on it have worn off in places where there wasn't a rug where people walked the most) I haven't found any soft spots in the floor, except the area where you first step into it, the tile is cracked there and the wood seems a little weak from wear, the rest seems to be very solid and no signs of rot or water damage, but the tile needs to be replaced because it is very worn and cracked/peeling in some spots. I have not tested the appliances and I don't intend to- just assume that nothing works, and you may be pleasantly surprised. When I towed it to AZ from Southern CA,some of the lights worked, I would assume that they still do- if not, I can throw in a set of tow lights to get it where it needs to go. The plug has been up-dated to the modern 7-round style. Brakes and bearings were checked 2 years ago according to the owner, and the tire shop checked and agreed they're fine. Tires are trailer radials, less than a year old and maybe 300 miles on them. It towed like a dream, just like any Airstream should, I didn't use the load-leveling hitch set-up, but it does come with it- it appears to be vintage too. This trailer was owned by NON-Smokers. The polish looks great, but not perfect. It has seen some rain, etc and could use a "touch-up" if you're really picky. This would be a great coach for someone who wants the real classic/vintage style because the interior is so original and seems like it wouldn't take much to get into "camp-ready" shape. This would be a BLAST on the Caravan runs- but it's also worthy of a modern update and/or restoration because it has a great body- of course it's not perfect, it is 50 years old- but it's very straight and has never seen a hail storm or been scraped up by tree branches. Again, just expect a 50 year old trailer tha
